Wednesday, August 23, 2023 –President William Ruto was captured donning complete Maasai cultural regalia on Tuesday August 23.
Speaking on the events, the head of State said traditions remain an integral part of societies’ story and that celebrating rich culture brings Kenyans from diverse backgrounds, together.
Speaking during the Tuesday’s convergence of culture and economic development held in Narok County, Dr. Ruto referred to this as a cultural tourism which is aimed at boosting economy of the Maa community and its neighbours
“In return, our visit and patronage will boost, by a great deal, the coffers of the community and lift the local economy
“It is a way for those of us here and abroad, who appreciate culture and diversity to sample the beauty of Maasai tradition,” President William Ruto noted.
The Maa Cultural Festival is a celebration of the authenticity, richness and consistency of Maasai Culture which has remained firmly together for decades.
Ruto and a section of his Cabinet members and MPs attended the event dubbed The Maa Cultural Festival which was held at the Sekenani Gate, Maasai Mara in Narok County.
Former National Assembly Speaker Francis Ole Kaparo, Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku, Interior Cabinet CS Raymond Omollo and Narok County Patrick Ole Ntutu also attended the celebrations.
