Saturday, March 26, 2022 –National Treasury is nolonger funding Deputy President William Ruto’s operation costs. It has been established.

In a detailed report by the Daily Nation issue of March 26, Ruto’s office had been thrown in limbo following a resolve by the treasury to revise how they should release funds to the office which had been turned into a political secretariat.

It is claimed that because the second in command spends a lot of time politicking and moving around the country, government resources were just being wasted and therefore a need to put this to a stop was inevitable.

Currently it is claimed that Ruto is forced to finance his activities using his own pocket what is putting a strain to his finances four months to elections.

He no longer fuels government vehicles with government sources indicating that this measure was sanctioned by the office of the State House comptroller led by Kinuthia Mbugua.

Same sources showed that Ruto’s cars assigned to him by the State are now not fueling at National Oil Filling Stations as has been before.

“The Office of the Deputy President has made its own arrangements to ensure operations are not interrupted. Fortunately, the PSC has been paying staff salaries,” DP Ruto’s Communications Director, Emmanuel Talam, disclosed.

Reacting to the matter, the DP’s office revealed that budgetary allocations for essential office activities had also been stopped by September 2021 without any explanation to them.

Further allowances in Per diems for his staff are yet to be released with no indications that this might be disbursed soon.

“The office of the DP has not received money from the National Treasury. All the departments are affected. We are told it affects the entire government,” Talam added.

But speaking on the matter, the National Assembly Budget Committee chairman, Kanini Kega, rebutted the claims saying it was not true and that Ruto was now looking for sympathy as usual.
