Thursday, January 6, 2022 –Deputy President William Ruto’s hustler Members of Parliament have vowed to march to court to stop the Coalition Bill which has passed in Parliament.
Revealing what they are now poised to do after they were overwhelmed by their rivals’ numbers, the Hustler MPs threatened that should the Bill be passed at the Senate, they will have to seek justice in the courts.
MPs allied to Uhuru-Raila on Wednesday January 5 voted Yes to the Political Parties Amendment Bill despite efforts by Ruto-allied MPs to scuttle the process through chaotic scenes.
“Hon. speaker I beg to report that the Committee of the Whole House has considered the Political Parties (Amendment) Bill (NA Bill No. 56 of 2021) and approved the same with amendments,” Narok Woman Representative, Soipan Tuya stated.
Majority Leader Amos Kimunya in his victory speech clarified that the Bill was not customized to benefit the Raila’s Azimio as perpetuated by Ruto’s allies.
Mr. Kimunya also affirmed that the Bill had gone through all the required stages including public participation and therefore not easy to stop something which has the full blessings of the every Kenyan.
“There has been lots of talk about public participation about this bill since 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and I really want to thank the people who interacted with the bill,” Kimunya stated.
MPs allied to the Handshake have cautioned Ruto against bragging of numbers which he seemingly does not have if the results from the recent Parliamentary sittings are anything to go by.
