Sunday, January 29, 2023 –Newly-sworn in Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has joined Tik Tok platform and managed to garner a whopping 64,000 followers in one hour.
Celebrating the new social milestone on Saturday January 28 afternoon, the Nairobi county boss also unveiled the only person he is following on the platform.
He couldn’t hold back his joy on reaching 50,000 followers in a record hour with the number going up by minute.
“Day one, 64,000 followers. I think I have enjoyed this. Asanteni sana. Finishing up the office work wacha niende home and relax,” Sakaja stated.
And by Sunday January 29 noon, this writer checked back on his account and established that his followers had increased up to 152,000 followers.
“Hey guys, I’m finally on TikTok. This is my official page. Let me know what to do next,” Sakaja said upon joining the platform.
He revealed that he will be using the page to interact with all and sundry regardless of where they come from.
He only follows one person identified as Mbaka who turned out to be his social media manager who introduced him on the platform he had no idea of.
“So I can see everyone is asking who is this one person I’m following. That is my social media manager. Ameniingiza kwa hii mtaa ya TikTok. So follow her as well,” Sakaja explained.
Governor Sakaja likes social media too much and, a times, he appears with his two young sons rapping on popular local music mostly composed by Gengetone star Mejja.
