Thursday, August 25, 2022 –Newly-elected Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja today took oath of office at an event organised at the Kenyatta International Convention Center KICC, Nairobi.
The Thursday August 25 function saw his allies from Kenya Kwanza alliance also attend led by outgoing Deputy President William Ruto.
Also present in the event were outgoing Nairobi Governor Anne Kakanau and Nairobi Metropolitan boss Mohamed Badi.
Many Kenyans enjoyed the event through Radio Jambo in a show hosted live by Massawe Japanni and Spice FM’s Jimmy Gathu.
This inauguration ceremony means Sakaja now becomes the fourth governor of the city after Evans Kidero, Mike Mbuvi Sonko and the outgoing Anne Kananau who promised a smooth transition process.
Sakajas’ new job did not come easily as he had to fight through qualification hurdles which included his questionable academic papers from Uganda’s Team University.
