Monday, October 16, 2023 –A second fake lawyer has been busted and arrested on Monday as operation to clear the corridors of justice from unscrupulous practitioners picks momentum.
Law Society of Kenya LSK President Eric Theuri has confirmed arrest of Sharon Adunya Atieno who has reportedly been posing as a qualified advocate of the High Court and securing deals from unsuspecting members of the society.
The reported culprit had faked her National Identity card as well as lawyers’ practicing certificate which she has been using to run the illegal enterprise around the city.
“She is currently held at Capitol Police Station pending investigations and arraignment in Court,” Theuri stated.
The culprit was cornered and arrested following intensified investigations which were launched through the LSK Rapid Response Team.
President Theuri thanked members of the public for their help in raising alarm that helped bust the suspect.
“We will not relent in this fight. The operation to rid masquerades will be intensive, thorough, and unrelenting,” he added.
This coming just days after Brian Mwenda was exposed for operating in the country without having a valid practicing license.
He is accused of using another advocate’s credentials without consent.
Brian has since received support from a section of wealthy top leaders among them former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko as well as COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli.
The two have vowed to stand with Brian and fund his court process fully.
Brian is expected to wright a police statement today Monday October 16 in preparation for impersonation charges.
