Sunday, August 13, 2023 -Roots Party has responded to claims by Political Analyst Mutahi Ngunyi for claiming that it(Roots Party) was used to frustrate William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.
Through a signed notice released on Sunday August 13, the Wajackoyah-led party called out Mr. Ngunyi as a desperate political survivor who seeks entry into any ruling regime using falsehood and propaganda.
In a hard-worded letter dated Sunday August 13 to the former Uhuru’s aide, Wajackoyah blasted him for using his party and name to find space in the William Ruto’s government after doing the same in the last regime.
“These remarks are baseless, unfounded and serve as an insult to our party. Roots Party, as a national party, does not subscribe to the culture of tokenism; a filed Mutahi holds a PHD in.
“For a man who survives on intellectual hariotry and peddling false political conjectures and analysis, it is least worrying that he will use our party to kneel before Mr. Ruto.
“We are already aware of Ngunyi’s frantic pleasing of the president and refuse to be used as an entry narrative in unholy political matrimony,” Wajackoyah signed the letter directed at Mr. Ngunyi.
Mutahi Ngunyi, four days after shifting camp to Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza side, said that they financed Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah’s manifesto launch to reduce the hype on Ruto’s popularity around the country.
“Dear Wajacoyah. At the core, you are what Political Scientists call a Useful idiot. Clever, but Stupid. That is why we funded your Manifesto launch to irritate Ruto. If I was allowed to use you, a RUN-OFF was Inevitable. And Babaman would be president today,” he wrote on Saturday August 12.
Dennis Itumbi, a Ruto ally, would join the raging debate by calling out the analyst for giving false narrations on how he knew William Ruto during the Uhuru reign.
“No wonder he lied to Uhuru Kenyatta effortlessly. Statehouse has no Golden taps wacha Uwongo. On the Washrooms you are lying too. Anyway, we defeated you despite your lies and 5th Estate. There is space for Facts and truth. Only,” Itumbi wrote.
On the same note, Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai claimed that Ngunyi is struggling to join Ruto through lies laced with propaganda; this being his signature culture of doing national politics every after five years.
“Mutahi Ngunyi is a criminal who can’t survive outside govt. Now positioning himself for Ruto to see value in him, but through petty lies. Hey Ngunyi, for once learn how to live outside govt. You are past your sell-by date,” Alai blasted the analyst.
Prof Herman Manyora reacted on Ngunyi’s Sunday Nation Paper outburst saying that, if Raila Odinga relied on such brains to win the 2022 presidency, then this is a sad story that must have contributed alot to the loss.
“Revelations by Ngunyi reveal one painful truth: That if these were the peopl RailaOdinga was depending on, then baba is truly loved by Kenyans. Imagine getting millions of votes while relying on people whose imagination can’t go beyond sponsoring Wajackoyah launch,” Manyora commented.
Prof Ngunyi, four days ago, announced his move from Azimio la Umoja to the ruling side of Kenya Kwanza coalition.
