Political analyst Herman Manyora has cautioned all presidential aspirants including President William Ruto that Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah could easily be picked by a majority of Kenyans in 2027.
Speaking on his Youtube show on Thursday Dec 5 evening, Prof. Manyora said, only Okiya Omtatah offers a long awaited departure from what other established figures are.
“Only Okiya Omtatah is a threat to Ruto and the best alternative for Kenyans in 2027. All other politicians, especially, the established ones, have a lot to deal with including too much baggage hanging on their shoulders”.
Manyora added that, secondly, all established politicians can be compromised, blackmailed, coerced and finally pulled the other side; giving an analogy of Mr, Raila Odinga who has been crossing over every time after elections.
Herman noted further that Kalonzo and Eugene are the easiest of all to be pulled across to the other side of Ruto and, therefore, Kenyans should not bank on them. He nonetheless, argued that, only with political euphoria, can the current opposition led by Kalonzo Musyoka win an election.
“Kalonzio belongs to the established clique and can be pulled the other side quite easily. If Raila was pulled, who is Kalonzo, Eugene or Jimi Wanjigi? Remember, Kalonzo, Mudavadi and Wetang’ula are close buddies and what they speak alone on phone or at night is not what you see on Tv?” Manyora also argued.
He defended Senator Omtatah saying, upto now, only him can stand before the nation and speak anything which everyone will listen to and take serious; unlike Ruto, Kalonzo or Raila who now have questions to answer first before being given any kind of an audience.
“Why Omtatah is better than them is because he views this country differently. His views on economy, leadership, governance and politics are quite different.
“So Omtatah will be saying completely differently things that these other people cannot say in the presence of each other,” added Prof. Manyora.
On COTU Sec. Gen. Francis Atwoli’s sentiments about money and politics, Herman Manyora said, it is true money is a big factor in any political race not only presidential but which can be sorted out by millions of well-wishers in and outside the country like it has happened before elsewhere.
