Senator Cheruiyot Finally Reveals who Brokered Adani Deal

Thursday, September 19, 2024 –Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot has threatened to file a case against Adani deal whistle blower Mr. Nelson Amenya.

Speaking in the Senate today Thursday September 19, the UDA Party lawmaker complained that he was being linked to the I famous Adani-Kenya deal which he has no clue about.

He noted that he has worked hard whole through his public life to protect his image as a leader and a clean citizen and cannot now allow anyone with ill intent to tamper with his long-built integrity.

“Those who have worked with me know very well that I have never and I will never do those kind of things,” he firmly stated.

Mr. Cheruiyot argued that, it lacks logic, when whistleblowers veer off the lane to malign politicians without any strong substation.

The vocal Kericho leader said he will take the matter to his lawyers so that to take action again Mr Amenya for invoking his name in the questionable Adani scandal.

Cheruiyot debated that, he neither works nor has he ever met with any Kenya Airports Authority KAA official nor the Adani Group from India.

“I have never met those people anywhere. I want to state it clearly in this House that I will be instructing my lawyers to visit that young man anytime,” Senator Cheruiyot threatened as he took back to his seat.

Adani Group has been at the center of debate concerning the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport JKIA takeover as sections claim that former Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen was the key link in the multimillion deal.

The Indian business group, according to the government, tendered a proposal to run important State agencies and parastatals in the country among them the Energy sector.

However, questions have arose from different quarters seeking to know the exact content of the deal which the government has held on tightly and does not want to share with anyone including the Parliamentary committee.

Courts have also temporarily blocked the deal until all Constitutional requirements including public participation threshold are exhausted and the public satisfied.
