Senator Ledama to oppose BBI as Ruto assembles his ‘NO’ camp

Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina has officially announced his plans to oppose the forthcoming Referendum citing betrayal.

Speaking today Friday Nov 27th through his social media handles, the vocal senator who has, of late, been flip-flopping on the Building Bridges Initiative matter, has finally come out clear and guns blazing to tell his final stand.

Ledama argued through a series of Tweets how the BBI was a con game which was initiated to politically finish those with contrary opinion as opposed to false belief that it was brought around to foster both unity and development.

DP William Ruto with Martha Karua in a past function.

“Unless the amendment to article 203 are removed I will not support it! That’s my solid stand! Now you know! You can’t take money away from pastoralist and expect me to be happy! There you have it! This ain’t nothing but a gangster party!” he wrote.

His sentiments come at a time both President Uhuru Kenyatta and his ally Hon Raila Odinga are drumming up support for the document after they recently launched the signature drive meant to start the long journey of constitutional amendment.

Deputy President William Ruto is yet to declare his stand on the new document but through his attack dogs Kipchumba Murkomen and MP Kimani Ichungwah, there are signs that the team could be planning to bring down the BBI Report.

Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale who is a close ally to the Deputy President has already shown his willingness to oppose the document same to Kimilili legislator Didmus Baraza who has volunteered to lead the NO Campaigns across the  country.

“I find that the return of the Imperial Presidency, the emasculation of the doctrine of separation of powers, the Judiciary Ombudsman, the discriminative award of 70 new constituencies & the 640 Parliamentarians as proposed in BBI are too grave to be wished away. I will vote NO,” Khalwale tweeted.

Sources have whispered to Homenews Desk that the DP is already hosting night meetings with his forces with an intention to see how possible this document can be shot down. That he has already reached out to Martha Karua through Machakos former Senator Johnston Muthama who will be joined by Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana.
