Sunday, February 20, 2022 –Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior and Orange Party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna clashed in a funeral service held in Ukambani Region.
On Saturday February 19, Senator Mutula accused Mr. Sifuna of being an impediment between Raila and Kalonzo claiming that Sifuna had also blocked their Wiper Party from receiving their fair share of political funds meant for 2017 NASA coalition.
“You, Sifuna, you championed against us receiving political funding. We have struggled but it is alright. We are okay.
“Governors met last week, I am saying here because I am angry. You claimed that you want Kalonzo to join Azimio but that he demanded sh 3 billion. I want you to tell us when he demanded the money, from who and where,” added Kilonzo.
Mutula also warned ODM stalwarts against making defamatory remarks against the Wiper Party boss that he had first demanded billions of cash to support Raila’s 2022 bid.
“Kalonzo is a cool person and if you want him in Azimio, why would you insult him. Oparanya go ask that question to Raila because he has not called Kalonzo and asked him to join Azimio. He sent Charity (Ngilu), Mutua (Alfred) and Kibwana (Kivutha),” he added.
But Sifuna quickly answered Mutula saying ODM had parted with millions meant for all NASA affiliate parties except Ford Kenya which had an internal pending matter in court.
He went further to state that he was ready to support his claims with documents that could show how much Wiper received, same to Amani National Congress ANC.
“Since I am Catholic and I have been taught to forgive, I forgive you. The truth will remain. I want the father to invite me to the office alongside Kilonzo to show documents showing the money transferred from ODM to Wiper and then you will tell the public.,” Sifuna retorted.
Sifuna reminded Mutula that he still maintains the Minority Whip seat in the Senate because ODM Party has respect for him.
“We have never touched your seat, you are still our Minority Whip. We have a lot of respect for you because of who you are and the work you have done,” he responded.
He also refuted claims that ODM was forcing Kalonzo to join hands with Odinga again for the third time.
