Sunday, December 3, 2023 –Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has broken his silence following the death of his father, Hon. Lawrence Sifuna.
Just hours after ODM Party published its official message of condolence, Senator Sifuna who was a bit quiet, followed with another message confirming that the late Lawrence suffered a stroke which he succumbed to.
Sifuna further stated that his father had been rushed to an Eldoret-based medical facility for medication where he, unfortunately, passed on.
“Hon. Lawrence Sifuna, former MP Kanduyi and Bumula Constituencies left us last night whilst receiving treatment at an Eldoret Hospital following a stroke he suffered a few days ago,” he added.
He seized the opportunity to thank everyone who had shared with the family messages of love over the demise of the ex-ODM Party politician.
On his part, ODM Party leader also shared how he was deeply saddened by the demise of his life party member Hon. Lawrence Sifuna.
“Deeply saddened by the passing of Hon. Lawrence Simiyu Sifuna, a former MP, key figure in the second liberation, defender of the people, and a life member of ODM. My condolences to the Sifuna family, Party SG Edwin Sifuna, the people of Kanduyi, and the entire nation. May He RIP,” Raila’s statement read.
Other leaders who spoke about this death are Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa, DAP-Kenya Party leader Eugene Wamalwa among many other leaders from both the opposition and government side.
