Seven Police Wardens Arrested at Kamiti Over Terror Suspects Escape

Tuesday, November 16, 2021 –Seven prison wardens have been arrested in connection to the escape of three terror suspects from Kamiti Maximum Prison.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiangi walked into Kamiti facility on Monday November 15 and ordered an immediate arrest of the warders who were on duty when this happened.

The terror suspects; Musharaf Abdalla, Mohamed Ali Abikar and Joseph Juma Odhiambo.

Matiang’i argued that the escape of the convicts was to be squarely blamed to the laxity and incompetence on the part of police officers at the prison.

He promised to make sure everyone who will be found culpable will be arrested and charged in court so that to serve as a lesson for all the rest who may have a similar intention in future.

“Definitely, there is a certain level of irresponsibility we have to deal with in this particular case,” he said.

Office of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI has since offered a whopping sh 60 million cash prize to whoever will have an information about the three dangerous escapees who left at 1 AM on Monday.
