Thursday, March 30, 2023 –Pwani University school bus was today morning involved in a ghastly road accident leaving several dead and scores injured.
Preliminary reports indicated that the accident was caused by a breakfall hence the bus losing control in Naivasha area at around 11 AM before it overturned.
The students were heading to Eldoret for a sports event, when the bus carrying over 30 of them collided with a matatu at Kayole area in Naivasha.
Some sources speaking to us through phone calls, started reporting that, atleast, 14 people had died in the accident.
Though not yet officially confirmed, teachers and students are feared dead following the bloody accident along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
By the time of writing this story, rescue operations involving police, members of the public and workers from the Naivasha fire brigade were ongoing.
Other students from the neighbouring areas were also filmed assisting their fellow students from the accident wreckage.
Those who sustained serious injuries were rushed to the nearby health facilities to receive medical attention as the highway witnessed a traffic snarl up.
