Wednesday, September 1, 2021 -Kenyans and other well-wishers from away have managed to raise a whopping sh 240 million medication funds for ailing Baby Ayah.
According to Pesatoday.com, the family conducted a series of fundraisers with the help of Samaritans what saw money raised in phases and now it has been confirmed that all is set and ready.
Ayah was born in January last year at a whopping 8.3 pounds. At nine months, her developmental progress suddenly reversed. She could no longer lift her head while lying down, sit on her own or clap. Her mother reported.
The baby would later be diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy which is a genetic disease found in one out of 10,000 children worldwide.
Doctors then prescribed Zolgensma which costs sh 240 million and considered the most expensive drug ever.
The family started raising funds before she would turn two years so that to ensure maximum drug response. This was done to race with the limited time.

Today, Baby Ayah’s target has been realized through intensive mobilization in and outside the country.
