Thursday, October 13, 2022 –Pressure continues to pile up on President William Ruto to reciprocate on the Hustlers who are yet to see the purported freedom as was preached during the campaigns.
Speaking on Citizen Tv Wednesday October 12 night, outspoken Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna observed that it is very wrong that, until now, no hustler had been supported by the current regime which banked on the poor to ascend to power.
He wondered why so many of William Ruto’s allies who are accused of multi-million graft cases are being freed from jail and courts but no petty offender has been released from prison.
“There are millions of hustlers who are in jail. They are waiting for you to finish bringing freedom to big fish like Aisha Juwma and Mithika Linturi. When you say freedom is here extend this freedom to everyone,” Sifuna said.
He added that, out of the list of the new Cabinet Members and Principal Secretaries, none of them is a poor vendor from the street.
“Hustlers say they missed out on the CS list. They haven’t seen themselves in the PS shortlist. They are hoping to be considered in the CASs positions,” Sifuna challenged Ruto.
In an immediate response, Nandi County Senator, Samson Cherargei, revealed that President William Ruto’s next plan is to offer Chief Administrative Secretaries CAS jobs to a common man in the village.
Making this argument on Citizen Tv during JKL show, the UDA Party-allied legislator promised that many hopeless youth will soon find their way into the government.
“We want a few young people…the hustlers, mama mbogas, boda boda operators to be CASs so that they can have the capacity to become PS’s and Cabinet Secretaries.
“I believe we need CASs because they will assist in the running of the government,” Cherargei added.
The lawmaker added that the CAS are picked to represent their PSs and CS in any meetings as directed and will act as a credible liaison with both the National Assembly and the Senate.
