Everyone in this country wants to become a president with the latest public figure to give us a hint being former Chief Justice David Maraga.
EX-CJ Maraga has all the credentials required by anyone to run for anything. He can vie for anything on earth but he must differentiate running from winning a contest.
In his hint today he said: “If I was to be given the privilege to govern this country, I would get everybody to obey the law.” He went on to insist, “The moment you have everybody obey the law, everything will fall into place. And that is the only problem we have.”
However, any election any day whether popular or not, no one is going to beat William Ruto and Raila Odinga. The next race will see Ruto and Raila remain at the top. And should they run together, then their early win is fully guaranteed.
Only Ruto and Raila know how to mount a presidential campaign and they also understand how to spend money in a serious and busy presidential campaign. So when Maraga, Karua or Okiya Omtatah announce that they are plotting to beat Ruto, some of us laugh at them. These miscreants are cheated by a few Gen Z smiles and cheers on the streets. They confuse this with winning a presidential election.
They should learn from those who tried racing against Ruto and Raila. In fact, I predict Maraga coming last with a paltry ten votes. It will be a permanent painful punishment to all those with similar intentions.
