Friday, June 7, 2024 –Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has revealed the reason Corporal Jacob Ogendo could not harm the first-year student Ian Njoroge who attacked him last week on the road.
In a long post made on his X platform, Mr. Sonko has said the police officer who was at the center of the incident could not retaliate by attacking the young man because he(the police) is a staunch Christian at Seventh day Adventist.
Sonko who was responding to a concern from a Kenyan who sought to know why the police officer was taking bribes on the road, said
“Huyo ni Mkristo serious mseventh day namjua vizuri. Haitishangi hongo,” Mike Sonko defended the police
He also said, he had intervened to help the young boy to get out of the problem by urging the police who is the complainant to forgive the boy.
“After an incident where a motorist Ian Njoroge attacked a traffic police officer, yesterday I received a distress call from the mother of the said motorist, asking me to intervene,” Sonko stated.
Confirming that Ian is a first-year student at the Technical University of Kenya, the former city boss said he had to feel what the parents are going through at this time; what triggered him to help have a truce between the involved parties.
