Stanley Livondo Summoned by DCI

Monday, February 21, 2022 –Mr. Stanley Livonda today afternoon appeared at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation DCI Headquarters over his recent remarks made at Thika Stadium.

Police spokesman Bruno Shioso on Monday February 21 confirmed that Livondo had been summoned before the DCI to pen a statement over the slur.

“Police hereby compels Stanley Livondo to appear at the DCI headquarters situated along Kiambu road at Mazingira House on Monday, February 21, at 2:00 pm without fail,” read part of the DCI statement.

Mr. Livondo who was among the key speakers during Gatundu South Constituency MP Moses Kuria’s prayers held in Thika claimed that a senior public official wanted to shoot President’s chopper from the skies. This was attempted twice.

The remarks saw the whole nation weigh in differently some asking the police to arrest the businessman so that he could shed some more light on the matter.

MP Kuria was also among the people who called on authorities to interrogate Livondo and if possible hold him squarely responsible for the remarks.

“As the convener of the thanksgiving prayer meeting in Thika, I may not be responsible for what speakers said but it was my meeting and I have to take responsibility.”

“I have requested the DCI boss George Kinoti to summon Stanley Livondo following his reckless statement,” Kuria stated.

On his part, Deputy President William Ruto warned politicians against recklessness saying this was not the appropriate time to speak aimlessly now that the country is headed to elections.
