State finally outlines how schools will reopen from October 5th

Date for reporting back to institutions of Higher learning in the country has officially been released by the ministry.

Homenews.co.ke has now learnt that all final year students who are in public universities and tertiary institutions will be back at school by Monday October 5^th.

Education Ministry led by Prof George Magoha has directed respective heads in those institutions to give way forward on how classes will resume in accordance with Covid-19 regulations.

Respective University Councils and their Senates will then have to announce when they expect to resume personal learning at their school. Students doing sciences are expected to report first as others will have to follow later in steady but careful phases.

On the other hand, boards of technical trainings colleges and TVETs have also been asked to plan well on in-person learning sessions for classes with priority accorded to those doing practical lessons.

Mr. Magoha emphasized further that Covid-19 guidelines must be strictly adhered to in every school so that learners can remain safe as the country continues to deal with the pandemics whose curve is flattening by day according to medics.

According to information reaching on our news desk, all learners and teachers must pass through daily body temperature checkups same to any other visitor accessing the institution.

The Ministry of Education will makes sure that all designated quarantine zones in those institutions will undergo thorough fumigation exercise on regular basis with hand wash basins, sanitizers and water supplied in steadily.

During his Monday September 29^th speech after holding a day long National Covid-19 Conference held in Nairobi, President Uhuru Kenyatta had indicated that schools would remain shut until learners are assured of their personal health while at school.
