Saturday, February 6, 2021 -Deputy President William Ruto has asked the opposition leaders to organize themselves and stop daydreaming of endorsements.
Speaking in Malindi and Kisauni Constituencies on Friday February 5 where he attended a series of rallies, the DP reminded ODM, Wiper, ANC and Ford Kenya Parties that the if they don’t put their house in order this early, they will be caught up with time the same way it happened in the past two elections which they lost.
He added that they should stop daydreaming of getting any endorsement from either him or the president because it is not going to happen.
He wondered how upto now they were still both “planless and confused” when the elections are just a few months left ahead.
“Because of lack of a clear plan, they have started surrounding the president and myself asking for endorsement, my friend, you are in opposition, how do you wait for an endorsement from someone who is in Jubilee?…Jipange mapema (organise yourself in advance),” Ruto said.
Ruto therefore advised them to quickly pick on their candidate who can face-off with him to avoid last minute rush where they always get embarrassed at the polls and start ‘crying’ that elections had been bungled.
“It is clear they don’t have a candidate just like in 2017 and I tell you things will be the same. I want to advise them for the second time, please organise yourself in advance so that you don’t disturb us again with fake swearing-in,” he said.
Ruto has pitched camp at the coast where he is holding a series of rallies to urge locals to reject the BBI document ahead of the Referendum.
His political nemesis Raila Odinga was in Lodwar for a three day tour where he is holding consultative meetings with grassroots leadership.
