Wednesday, January 6, 2021 -Huge crowds of Trump supporters thronged streets headed to Capitol in The US as Congress was preparing to make final certification of Electoral College votes.
Cnbc.com reported that Joe Biden who is supposed to take oath on January 20 was supposed to be announced the final winner of the race when anti-Democrat protests erupted.
Ugly scenes erupted on the steps of the US Capitol after the outgoing President encouraged and fueled it through a tirade of inflammable tweets.
Trump’s major mistake was to give his supporters hopes of winning. He would continue it until the last day of vote counting what now makes it so hard to withdraw the ‘hopes dream back’ and ask supporters to accept the results and move on.
“Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!” Trump tweeted earlier.
Until the time we went on air, certification is typically a ceremonial exercise in the US election exercise which has since been interfered with by Trump supporters.
President-elect Joe Biden and his vice Kamala Harris had not yet spoken a single word in this regard.
It is now obvious that there will be no peaceful transfer of power from Trump administration to Biden if the protests witnessed on Wednesday is anything to go by.
