Friday, August 26, 2022 –Storm is brewing in Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition following the recent loss they suffered in the just-concluded General election.

Raila Odinga-Martha Karua ticket lost to William Ruto-Rigathi Gachagua following a Bomas of Kenya verdict by IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati that Ruto had won the contest.

And on Friday August 26 morning, top guns in Azimio traded blames on who actually cost Odinga his last stab at the presidency.

Nairobi lawyer also a close ally of Odinga, Donald Kipkorir, for the first time ever, fumed at colleagues within Azimio whom he claimed were hell-bent on misleading their boss as long as they could pocket cash meant for campaigns.

He alleged that part of Azimio’s secretariat is misleading Raila Odinga on every important matter including the Supreme Court preparations.

“Raila was let down & betrayed by people closest to him those who ran AZIMIO Secretariat. They are lying about Supreme Court case instead of working on it to be foolproof,’” Kipkorir charged.

This would see his colleague, Prof Makau Mutua, who is the Azimio campaign spokesman and strategist rebut with a brief and cryptic tweet that insinuated all was not well within their camp.

“You KNOW your TRUE friends not in GOOD times, but in BAD,” he wrote.

Since losing the election to William Ruto, Azimio supporters have  been taking issue with a section of insiders among them Junet Mohamed and Prof Makau Mutua for not making things work for Mr. Odinga.

For instance,  it is claimed that money meant for their polling agents was not well-utilised as was intended; what makes part of the reasons Odinga lost the important election.
