Thursday, December 15, 2022 –In response to his Thursday suspension, KANU Party Secretary General Nick Salat now wants Gideon Moi to support President William Ruto.

Addressing reports about his suspension from the founding party today, an angry Salat argued that it is time to pledge support for the current government of William Ruto since there is no more time left for sideshows.

He added that Azimio la Umoja coalition was nolonger a home to house anything in this country because it had lost the August 9 polls to someone who many never thought could beat Raila who had blessings of the Deep State.

“It is my position in the party that we ought to support Ruto and the government of the day. We cannot continue remaining in the opposition,” Salat noted.

A visibly angry Salat took-on their Chairman Gideon Moi whom he said cannot purport to remove him from the party.

“If there is anyone to leave KANU, then it is Moi, not me.

“He has no authority to suspend me from the party. We have the same powers in the party,” Mr. Salat said in a hard-hitting statement of Thursday December 15.

He was responding to the decision by the party’s top organ – National Executive Council NEC – to stop him from holding the secretary general post.

On Thursday December 15, NEC accused their secretary general of violating the laid down rules within their party; what they described as violation of the party’s laws.

“This is to notify you that in the National Executive Council on December 15, 2022, several complaints on your conduct and violation of the party constitution were placed before the members for discussion,” the notice addressed to Salat read in part.

But Salat who was present in their Thursday Nakuru meeting noted that he was not given an opportunity to defend himself contrary to what should be done before expelling or suspending any official.

“I was in the meeting. I questioned him(Gideon) directly that we could not continue this way, our returns are diminishing,” he explained.

Salat wondered before Gideon why the party that boasted of over 40 Members of Parliament, today, has close to nothing.

But Moi told the secretary general that his concerns were grave and only the disciplinary committee can deal with him accordingly.

“The committee resolved to suspend forthwith from carrying out or performing your duties as the Party’s Secretary General pending the determination of the disciplinary proceedings,” reads the letter.

His fate therefore will be decided within the next 30 days from now.
