Thursday, August 10, 2023 -Kapsaret Member of Parliament MP Oscar Sudi now wants any leader associated with the viral Finland education scam to be arrested and charged in court
Addressing residents of Uasin Gishu on Thursday August 10, MP Sudi noted that those who had collected money from poor families to help relocate their sons and daughters to Finland for education must be held responsible.
He urged area governor Jonathan Bii, together with County Assembly speaker, to form task force so that to look into the fraud that saw families lose their hard-earned cash.
“If anyone took money from these poor families here at home; the money must be returned and culprits jailed.
“As leaders, we also want to look for money elsewhere so that those children already in Finland can continue with their studies. Letting them back home will be an embarrassment,” MP Sudi added as per the clip on our desk.
Falling short of naming Senator Jackson Mandago, the second term MP went on to denounce any relationship with fraudulent leaders who participated in the scam.
He warned that it was very wrong for leaders entrusted with top leadership to start misusing public money just because they wield power.
“Do not touch money from the public. They respected you to vote you as their leader. You have to be stupid to do what you have done.
“Why not look for business using the platform you have been given rather than stealing from the same people you should be helping?” he posed further.
News about millions of monies collected from parents across Usain Gishu County started playing out after a recent meeting between the county leadership and locals ended up into name calling with one victim, Mercy Tarus, taking-on Mandago over the scam.
