Sunday, May 28, 2023 –Nakuru County Governor Susan Kihika has broken her silence long after some Kenyans sought her whereabouts folksinging her prolonged absence from the public eye.
While responding to claims that she has been away over the last couple of weeks, Kihika noted that she had gone nowhere and that the media was responsible for the lies.
For instance, Economist Mohamed Wehliye, while reacting to a media reports on Twitter, sought to know where she had gone to.
This is after a section of the media reported that the first time Nakuru boss has been missing in action now the second month.
“Ala! Governor Susan Kihika, the country is looking for you. Or you lacked airtime because the economy is bad?” Wehliye posed in their Kikuyu language.
And in a quick rejoinder, the governor simply trashed the claims saying that was a misleading observation.
“You must be one of us. That is too much Kikuyu. If you can be able to send me airtime, I can be very happy and stop hiding and come out to the people so they stop looking for me like money,” Kihika answered.
In another response to a tweep who inquired about her whereabouts, Mrs Kihika blamed the media for misinformation and sensational stories surrounding her life.
“I understand them. They have to sell those things used for wrapping meat in the butchery,” Kihika said.
The Nakuru governor, a month ago, was trolled on social media after he appeared either disturbed or sick during President William Ruto’s visit in Nakuru.
Kihika could be seen moving away from the front raw where Ruto was addressing supporters during a press briefing.
Kenyans on Twitter remained confused over her decision to leave the briefing, midway.
