Monday, December 19, 2022 –The suspect behind the gouging out of baby Junior Sagini’s eyes in Kisii County has today been finally arrested by detectives.

Making this confirmation on Monday December 19 afternoon, police said they had pounced on the suspect, Mr. Maina Ochoki, who was hiding and who is believed to be behind the gouging of the three-year old baby’s eyes.

Former Nairobi County Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko had yesterday Sunday December 18 pledged a bounty of sh 200,000 to whoever will flash the criminal out of his hideout.

Mr. Sonko was reacting to a series of worrying photos which were circulating on social media showing Baby Sagini bandaged all over his face following the horrific incident.

According to the Star publication of Monday, Maina Ochoki, baby Junior Sagini’s cousin, is believed to be the main suspect in this case.

Maina and his mother Pacifica gouged out Baby Sagini’s eyes to be used as a ritual for the reasons they themselves know.

And even as more suspects continue to be hunted down, those arrested were dragged to court on Monday December 19 to answer to relevant charges.
