Sunday, June 27, 2021 -Tanzanian opposition leader Mr. Tundu Lissu has cautioned Kenyans against supporting the Building Bridges Initiative BBI.
Remarking this during his interview with a Kenyan local media house, the vocal politician argued that the BBI was a dirty plan by a section of the elites to cling to power beyond their Constitutional term.
According to Dundapost.com, The Tanzanian politician described African leaders as with a habit of becoming dictators once they are in power and warned Kenyans against buying the BBI idea – which according to him – is meant to help the regime cling to power and to cause anarchy in 2022.
He lambasted both Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta whom he claimed they want to plunge the country into unnecessary chaos.
And comparing with Tanzania, he said their nation had suffered for many years because of rogue leaders who every electioneering period would lock themselves in a room to impose the next leader to the people.
“The present dispassionate history of our countries is that of the imperial presidency.
“Our Presidents are the semblance of the pre-colonial monarchs that sought to retain and remain in power,” Lissu said.
He also took issue with the current President of Tanzania Samia Suluhu whom he asked to respond to the letter he addressed to her over impunity and huge damage caused by Magufuli’s regime.
He further cautioned that he will be arriving home very soon since he can’t be away in exile forever.
