Nairobi Catholic Archbishop Philip Anyolo has insisted that the Catholic church is ready and willing to return the sum of Ksh 5.8 million to President William Ruto.
The controversial sum donated to it by both President William Ruto and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has been at the center of debate now third week.
Speaking on Saturday, November 30, Anyolo confirmed that the money has not been returned yet because the Governmen side was yet to instruct them where the money can be deposited.
Members of the church believe that the two governments have more pressing matters including supporting the less fortunate who were promised deliverance during last general election campaigns.
While addressing the press today, Anyolo asserted that the Catholic Church is not interested in a shouting match with the government, and returning the money is not an odd thing, rather than a thing that the church has done before and still willing to.
