Friday, April 19, 2024 –Azimio politician has come up with difficult questions surrounding the demise of Chief of Defense Forces Francis Ogolla.
Embakasi East Member of Parliament MP Babu Owino has asked ten questions which he wants the State to respond to over the death of the CDF, yesterday on Thursday.
Babu has sought answers why the official chief of defence forces would be boarding same plane with a number of juniors.
MP Babu has also questioned why a mere sergeant was not mandated to inspect a simple security situation in Elgeyo Marakwet and, instead, Ogolla was sent there.
“If all these Questions can be answered then our Hearts may stop Bleeding. Otherwise, Mambo ni Tatu.Where was the west com commander? Where was the Defense forces Sgt major? Where was the Army commander?” he posed through his Friday morning post on X Platform.
The Azimio la Umoja MP also wants to know why a whole CDF would be using one Helicopter with no 50ACB Helicopter Escort in an operation area.
“Why was he in the company of junior officers only? 6) Which rank should fly a Helicopter used by the CDF? Who gives parade to CDF in an operation when he is about to inspect his troops? How many Helicopters should a CDF use while visiting an operation area? Why was he the only one to inspect a school and not his juniors?” MP Owino added to ask.
In that breadth, Owino then posed the hard question seeking to know who should be the next CDF going by the ‘Tonje Rules’ and who will deputise him. Why Ogolla had to die days after recent KDF changes by the president.
Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly MCA Robert Alai wondered how w hole KDF bos was travelling in a a chopper full of his juniors.
“CDF flying around and travelling like an OCPD with so many junior officers? Weird” Alai commented on the death even as Kakamega Senator sought to know the state of all public air transport system.
“We now demand a thorough review of the air worthiness of the Kenya State owned aircraft. Since 2012, a shocking 12 aircraft belonging to Kenya Air Force and another 5 to the National Police Air Wing have crashed! Furthermore, procurement of these aircraft, their maintenance, and operation must be put under scrutiny”.
CDF Ogolla died after a chopper he was traveling in alongside other officials crashed in Kaben, Marakwet East on Thursday.
Ogolla took over as CDF on April 28, 2023.
