Friday, August 25, 2023 –Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua have today met amid back and forth over their Bipartisan talks.

On Friday August 25, the two politicians met at the burial service of freedom fighter Brigadier John Kiboko in Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County.

Gachagua arrived later after Mr. Odinga was sited with sources saying Odinga was warmly welcomed with cheers from mourners.

Addressing the mourners, the DP warned Odinga against holding anymore demonstrations against their government.

“Our Constitution allows picketing but what you did was not demonstration; it was wanton destruction and theft and stoning policemen. That was theft, looting and destruction.

“That cannot be allowed in this republic and we have said not again since me and my boss we are working for the people,” added Gachagua.

He also said talks can go on at the Bomas but this will mean nothing at the end since election was done and dusted.

“Make your noise but don’t destroy property of these hardworking Kenyans. You can make your noise from morning to the evening,” Gachagua charged.

Odinga who arrived in the country yesterday from his tour in the United Kingdom UK, steered clear of any divisive politics during the burial.

Instead, he chose to recount the history of the country and how colonialist were forced out by strong Mau Mau fighters.

“I don’t want to share your government. I was a prime minister; a position I served very well. You are saying that I met Ruto where did we meet and when?” Raila posed to Gachagua.

Raila was also yesterday seen in a family anniversary held at Vila Rosa Kempinski in Westlands where his wife Ida was  celebrating her birthday.

Odinga and Gachgua have been at constant loggerheads with the latter promising to force stall the Bomas of Kenya bipartisan talks that both the government and Azimio side are attending.

Days ago, Gachagua said the talks will mean nothing since Odinga had met and agreed in secrete with President William Ruto in a Mombasa hotel.

He added that the recent meeting between Raila and Ruto sealed the deal and that Odinga was just playing games with his supporters.

“Help me ask Kalonzo to stay away from those talks. It’s a complete waste of time. We finished with Odinga long time ago,” he addressed in Mwala Machakos.

His remarks saw Azimio camp go up in arms with the him (DP) requiring him to substantiate his claims.

They said this was a way of interfering with the ongoing truce between Raila and President William Ruto.

Gachagua and Raila were facing each other today while paying their last respect to Mau Mau freedom hero John Njigoya Kagwe known as Brigadier Kiboko, at Ngorika Secondary School in Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County.
