Monday, July 11, 2022 –There was some tense moments at Kenya Broadcasting Corporation KBC headquarters when fire broke out early morning.
Speaking to Homenews.co.ke on Monday July 11 morning, a source divulged that the fire first broke out at the canteen at around 6 AM before spreading fast.
In a subsequent video clip, the fire flames could be seen consuming the main block which houses the broadcasting machines.
By good luck, the raging fire was shortly contained by the police from Central Police Station assisted by G4S security squad.
The source told our desk that Nairobi County Government delayed to respond because they did not have needed fire engines.
“It started shortly before 6 a.m., G4S and police have contained the fire. Staff on duty evacuated. Everyone is safe,” stated the source.
Upto now, it has not been established what might have caused the fire and what damage the fire had caused at the Harry-Thuku based station.
During elections, fire become a menace in the country with reports sometimes pointing at foul play.
