Terror Convict Sheikh Guyo Asks to Remain Locked

Sunday, November 28, 2021A terror convict Sheikh Guyo Gorsa wants to remain locked in for more time citing insecurity reasons.

In court papers submitted through his Lawyer Khaminwa John, the terror suspect argued that should he be set free, he risks being short dead on abduction.

Marsabit Sheik Guyo Gorsa Buru at Milimani Law courts Nairobi.

He shocked the court after he pleaded that his judgment be delayed for some more weeks because of what has happened to fellow terror suspects in this country. That they are found murdered barely a week after they are acquitted.

“The accused is certain he will be acquitted of the offense but he fears that if he is acquitted, he will be abducted and killed by the state,” Khaminwa said.

Lawyer Khaminwa went on to tell the court that in the recent times there have been witnessed increased abduction of the accused persons charged with terrorism immediately they are freed.

“He told me that he better stay in jail than be killed after he is acquitted” Khaminwa added.

The lawyer then told the presiding Magistrate Kennedy Cheruiyot to allow him more time to find orders from the High Court that would assure his client’s safety.

Prosecution papers read that on January 13, 2018 at Madarassa Toba within Marsabit Town, the Sheik was found being a member of outlawed terror group – Al-shabaab.

The Milimani Court moved his judgment to December 3, 2021.
