Power can be accessible through many ways not what you people always think or know of.
When an old man the age of Raila Odinga tells you he will access Canaan, be sure he will arrive there safely no matter how long this takes and which route he chooses to use.
When many of you were voting ODM to take charge of the country, your aim must have been to access power; not to lose power. And accessing power do not always follow the rule of process. Power can be grabbed and can be taken as well. It can not be always through the ballot; some times this could be through the gun. And if the two fails, there is the third method which is through a dialogue and or Handshake.
Raila has tried all the three methods. He tried the ballot way many times, tried the coupe in 1982 and got detained for eight years. He was also charged of treason not once. And has, on several occasions, also gone the dialogue way.
For him, the dialogue way seems to be working well and smoothly. And true, it has been working for him all the times. Quite well and positively. Power is power regardless of how you got it just like money is money how each one got his or hers doesnt really matter at all. Every money each one of us has can buy a cold bear at the counter.
Now, Raila’s age nolonger allows him to be on the streets. Those still with some energy can take on the streets because they(streets)are ever open for everyone – morning to evening and even at night.
Sad that some people are still stuck with the two tired old ways of getting to power – the ballot and the gun. It can not always be that way. If a dialogue can take you to the same place, why not use it. You don’t always need to pour blood to lead. That is traditional way of doing things. Times have since changed.
Allow Raila to use the little remaining days, oxygen and energy to enjoy warm sunshine and afternoon breeze at the Lakeside.
