Saturday, February 25, 2023 –President William Ruto has today declared that the country’s economy had already stabilized.
Addressing today Saturday February 25 in Nairobi, the head of State revealed that his first five months in office purely focused on correcting the messes created by the Uhuru Kenyatta’s regime.
“My first assignment in the last five months was to consolidate and stabilize the economy of our country, which had been battered by reckless borrowing and unnecessary subsidies,” President William Ruto stated.
He went ahead to warn opposition leader Raila Odinga against lecturing him on what should and should not be done saying him(Odinga) and Uhuru had their time during the Handshake period which they dismally performed.
“Elections are behind us. Do not lecture me on the economy, I have stabilised it,” President Ruto told Raila.
According to Ruto, his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta engaged in reckless borrowing that made life very difficulot for innocent citizens.
“I have consolidated and stabilized the economy. All our citizens… we will not go back to reckless borrowing and subsidies that benefit cartels who are highly-connected.
“Do not threaten others with demonstrations. It is you who messed this economy with handshake shenanigans,” Ruto added.
President Ruto also reminded the country that his government was working on subsidizing production and not consumption through fairly priced fertilizers and other farm inputs.
Days ago, opposition boss Raila Odinga unveiled fresh demands on Governmnet and warned that if thew president will not address this conclusively, he(Raila) will lead his troops on the streets through countrywide mass protests.
