There was no Abduction – UDA to Malala

Tuesday, September 24, 2024 –United Democratic Alliance UDA National Treasurer and also Kitutu Chache MP Japheth Nyakundi has dismissed abduction claims from Cleophas Malala.

In a statement he shared with the media, MP Nyakundi said the party was collecting vehicles allocated to the ex-SG during his tenure as party SG.

That Mr. Malala had refused to surrender the cars forcing the owners to come for them and that, at the time of the incident, Malala was busy attending an interview on K24 TV.

On earlier Tuesday, taking to his X platform, Cleophas Malala had claimed that his 19-year-old son and brother in law were kidnapped by unknown men and tortured for a six hours.

During the ordeal, the former Kakamega County senator disclosed that they (abductees) were forced to share whereabouts of him(Malala) and wife.

The abductors also threatened to cause more harm to the victims if they could not show them Malala’s residence.

“My Son & my 19-year-old brother in-law were abducted at gunpoint. Tortured for 6 hours to disclose my whereabouts or that of my wife and to show them the way to my residence. On failing to find us at home they dumped them on Thika road; I have picked them, safe but traumatized,” added Malala in a statement he shared with users.

The events happening just days after the politician officially resurfaced in the limelight and joined embattled Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua in his early campaign trail.
