Monday, March 28, 2022 –Outspoken Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege has poured out more details about the soured relationship between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
On Inooro’s Kiririmbi show hosted my Francis Gachuri, MP Chege noted that, all along, William Ruto has been a thorn in the flesh of Jubilee government and that though while outside he portrays himself as a humble man who respects his boss, Ruto is a completely different character in the dark.
Sabina who has been a critical team player in President Uhuru’s Jubilee Party and now playing a similar role in Azimio la Umoja Movement, said the DP has himself to blame because he has gone as far as stepping at Uhuru Kenyatta’s door step in Ichaweri Village with insults.
In the live interview on Sunday March 27 night, she stated that Uhuru and Ruto’s fallout was purely contributed by many factors including Ruto’s early campaigns. However, Sabina revealed the main mistake that hurt the president most saying this is when Ruto decided to use Mt Kenya leaders to disrespect the president at home.
“Further, what hurt the president most was the recent Ichaweri visit. Ruto recently held a mega campaign at Ichaweri Village the birthplace of President Uhuru and mocked his Handshake government,” Ms Chege noted on the show.
According to Sabina, this was a sign of no respect to the president and it was now very difficult for Uhuru to forgive Ruto again.
She noted that Uhuru had a kind heart for his deputy and meant it when he promised 10 years of support to his deputy but Ruto’s conduct was his own great undoing.
