Friday, March 17, 202 –Government has responded to huge public uproar over the controversial Thursday appointment of Chief Cabinet members CASs.
Ruto’s allies have came to his defence on Friday, March 17 saying the new team appointed by the head of State comprises only visionary leaders despite their jobs costing taxpayers a whopping sh 500 million every year.
Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has told off those criticizing the appointments adding that the nominees will be crucial in the implementation of government’s programmes.
“The auxiliary roles of the Chief Administrative Secretaries (CAS) are important in driving the Ministries’ goals and the Government’s Development Agenda.
“I thank President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for equipping our ministries with able and visionary Kenyans in the CAS appointees,” he argued.
Moreover, Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo noted that the President wanted to capture as many regions as possible in his Cabinet.
“The nominees are illustrious Kenyans and dedicated public servants who have expressed unwavering support to the Government’s transformative agenda,” he stated.
They were saying this, moments after Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua had defended the move which he described as inevitable for effective service delivery.
On Thursday March 16, President William Ruto gave jobs to 50 persons believed to be his close friends.
