Thursday, February 16, 2023 –Public Service, Affirmative Action and Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa’s Nairobi’s Loresho home was broken into and valuables and cash of unknown value stolen.
According to police preliminary statement, the burglars not only terrorized the family but also demanded cash and electronics before taking off.
Police noted that the thugs spent atleast four hours at Jumwa’s residence and only left at about 5AM on Wednesday.
The CS was not at home by the time the incident took place but her daughter and a house help were in the home.
Police listed mobile phones, unknown amount of cash and other valuables belonging to the CS and her family as having been part of the items the thugs ran away with.
Though nobody was injured in the incident, the guards who were on duty were missing and it is believed they could have been part of the gang behind the attack.
The gang first broke through a section of a wall around the house before they accessed the house through the kitchen door.
Ms Jumwa had not spoken a word by the time this was going to the press.
This incident is taking place barely two weeks after Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi’s Nairobi home was also broken into and kitchen items stolen including expensive cooking gas.
