Thursday, November 23, 2023 – Michael Warutere from Riara Springs Academy who topped in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education KCPE has broken his silence.
Speaking to media stations at his school today Thursday November 23, the top candidate noted that he was equally surprised to score higher marks than any other student around the country.
“I was not expecting this. Some thought public school students cannot do well and top but here I am and am surprised and proud as well,” he told reporters who interviewed him.
The genius teenager also added that he got enough support from both his teachers and parents throughout his learning activities.
“I got sufficient support from parent and teachers,” he added.
Asked about his hardest subject which he, however, scored well, Warutere said Science was his unfavorite but still scored 75 percent same to Kiswahili which he scored 86 marls.
“The hardest subject is science but I got 86 marks in Kiswahili subject too,” he shared with the media reporters.
He is expecting to join Mang’u National School to pursue his secondary level education before joining campus for software engineering course.
Michael Warutere emerged as the top candidate in the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education KCPE exams with 428 marks out of 500.
Michael, who sat his national examinations at Riara Spring in Nairobi, expressed his disbelief at the results saying he expected 410 or below.
