Friday, October 4, 20214 –Tourism Cabinet Secretary CS Alfred Mutua today called for the resignation of Deputy President Rigthai Gachgua.
Addressing hundreds of residents in Machakos County where he went to give his views on whether Gachagua should be removed through an impeachment or spared, Mutua noted that it is high time to impeach the DP from office because he has been blocking any attempts to bring development in Ukambani Region.
In his submission, the CS for Tourism added that, since taking office two years ago, Gachagua has blocked President William Ruto from criss-crossing the country for development.
“We are not happy. Since Ruto and Gachagua took power, Gachagua has never come here even once to preach development. Instead, when the president attempts to come here, his deputy blocks him saying we did not vote Kenya Kwanza,” Mutua announced.
The CS, therefore, urged locals to give strength to the president so that he can change his deputy for the sake of countrywide development.
“We need to give strength to Ruto so that he can come here and do politics of development. We also need money, markets, schools, and hospitals like the rest of the country,” remarked CS Mutua during the public participation exercise.
He, therefore, led Machakos County residents in calling for the impeachment of the deputy president through the Parliament and the Senate.
The rest of the nation also held public participation on Gachagua as was announced by the Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula.
