Sunday, November 5, 2023 –Popular American Youtuber Jimmy Donaldson alias Mr Beast built 52 wells in the country. It has been established.
In his mission to build atleast 100 wells around Africa, the famous YouTuber was aimed at having schools su0pllied with clean water.
Mr. Beast notes that, such projects do not require a lot of money from the government, just people willing to help.
He urged well-wishers to continue donating funds to help construct more wells and undertake more projects to better humanity in Africa.
“These 100 wells we built in Africa will change a lot of lives but definitely not enough. That is why we need your help,” he stated.
Once the well is dug, the water is transferred to tanks on the water towers to provide clean and easily accessible water to the locals.
Donaldson revealed that the continental project took over eight months to complete.
The content creator with over 200 million subscribers on YouTube shared the journey showing the before and after photos of the projects.
While in the country, he also built a bridge in a local village. The bridge was in bad condition which became worse during heavy rains, hindering movement.
He also donated computers, shelves, books, footballs, whiteboards, and projectors to primary schools in the country.
The Youtuber also went to Zimbabwe, and Cameroon to build more wells and change the lives of the locals.
Commenting on the matter, Kenyans seized the opportunity to compare Mr Beast’s projects to those ones launched by local politicians.
“It costs about sh 10-15 million (with taxes) to purchase a water drilling machine. The minimum constituency gets sh 131m in CDF annually. It takes less than a week to drill a well, it’s possible to do so in each school and town centres country wide. Mr Beast did it!” Kiprono said.
A section of Kenyans complained that politicians use more resources to launch projects rather than the total amount spent on the projects themselves.
“When you see what Mr Beast has done, and here was Ruto commissioning one borehole. First Lady Rachel Ruto has a budget of sh 593.9 million, and Dorcas Rigathi sh 717.6 million. That’s 1.3 billion for spouses of Ruto and Rigathi to waste on travel, vehicles and crusades. Shame,” Human Rights Activist Boniface Mwangi noted.
A section of Kenyans expressed fears that soon some local leaders – MCAs and MPs – may take credit for Donaldson’s projects as their own.
