Saturday, February 26, 2022 –Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju has been replaced with Ndaragwa Member of Parliament Jeremiah Kioni.
Tuju has been in Jubilee serving as its SG since 2017 and his replacement comes after a section of Jubilee Party members asked for some changes so that to drive the party’s new energy ahead.
The NDC also announced that Kioni’s deputy will be vocal Cherengany Member of Parliament and ex-Youth Affairs advisor Joshua Kutuny.
DP Ruto was also removed from his position as the party’s deputy after he started working with a rival party UDA which is already on a campaign trail for the August 9 contest.
Lucky to remain in office is President Uhuru Kenyatta who will still hold the position of party leader beyond 2022 for the reasons of stabilizing the party which had been run away by DP William Ruto’s brigade.
Tuju, however, explained that his removal from office was arrived at after a lengthy talk with their party leader Uhuru Kenyatta.
“The President has believed so much in uniting this country that he has been ready to reach out to those who are his opponents. This is not a new thing, it is something he started in 2012-2013,” Tuju stated.
Mr. Tuju also left his role in the cabinet where he has been serving without portfolio. These announcements were made during the Jubilee Delegates Convention held at KICC today February 26.
