Monday, March 27, 2023 – –Tv47 Chief Executive Officer CEO Abubakar Abdullahi has today March 27 officially resigned from office; after about a four-year stint at the helm of the fast-growing station.
He was appointed acting CEO of the then-budding Tv station in July 2020 and guided it to become one of the most popular media channels in the country rivaling big shots like KTN, K24 and NTV.
His resignation, according to an insider, has something to do with his recent demotion to a mere Head of Tv – a position he held until he left the Cape Media-owned broadcaster based in Nairobi.
Asked why he had to quit despite immense progress, the former youthful CEO revealed that he had left Tv47 to pursue other career interests.
“I am also proud of the caring community we became. However, I have for personal reasons decided to leave the company and pursue other interests.
“You have offered me the support I needed to execute my mandate and I thank you all for that while requesting that you grant the same to my successor,” he wrote as he bade goodbye to the place he called home for about four years.
In his last message to his colleagues, Abubakar thanked the team for the accomplishments they made together through the years.
“We were ranked the fastest-growing TV in Kenya and our numbers continue to grow.
“At the heart of my philosophy has been to create a humane company that puts the interest of its staff members first,” he revealed the secret to the success that was enjoyed by the station.
The Cape Media is currently on a hiring spree as it works to revolutionise the radio industry with their newly-launched Radio 47 which is now poaching big talents from Standard Group-owned Radio Maisha.
