Two persons lost their loves as 46 others were left hospitalized after feeding on rice in Luanda Vihiga County.

In the Tuesday Dec 3, incident, a witness told the media that that the victims had ate contaminated rice to beans in a local church.

According to witnesses, the church members, most of whom originated from Luanda, had attended a ceremony when they were unknowingly served the contaminated food.

And just after eating the food, the church members reportedly fell unconscious and were rushed to the Vihiga Sub-County Hospital where two people succumbed while receiving treatment.

“I have come here and found my brother dead. I am not sure whether he has been transferred to the mortuary or not. I plead with our MP Omboko Milemba to dispatch a rescue team,” a resident lamented.

Luanda area MP Dick Maungu urged members of the public and the healthcare workers to jointly assist in taking the victims who were yet to be treated to hospital.
