Wednesday, April 5, 2023 –Two school buses which collided along the Kagio-Baricjho Road in Kirinyaga County left one person dead as several others were injured.
The Wednesday morning, April 5 accident saw good Samaritans run to the scene to save lives before police arrived.
A local news channel reported that welders from around were called to dismember the wreckage so as to rescue a number who had been trapped inside.
Emergency service providers also rushed the injured to nearby hospitals where first aid was administered while the body of the diseased was taken to a nearby morgue.
The two school buses ferrying students to school collided on the side causing their windows to shatter and the front parts badly damaged.
“In the morning at 6AM, we rushed and rescued the students from the bus and took those who were severely injured to the hospital,” a resident stated.
It was reported that the deceased was the manager of one of the schools who died on the spot.
