The United States of America U.S.A has weighed in on the viral X letter which had indicated that two senior government officials allied to President William Ruto had been banned from flying to the U.S over corrupt dealings.
In a fresh statement over the letter that has since been widely shared on X platform today Monday, the U.S Embassy to Kenya clarified that the contents are manufactured propaganda and, therefore, distanced itself from it.
“The travel ban indicated in the letter is a fake and was not issued by any US government official,” the US Embassy stated.
The fake letter comes in the wake of fake news that has increased in recent weeks. The latest one was a fake job alert purporting to recruit en masse for vacancies for the Social Health Authority (SHA) shared on November 24.
Through its official X handle, SHA flagged off the advert as fake warning members of the public to beware of the misleading information.
