Wednesday, November 8, 2023 – Public Service Cabinet Secretary CS Moses Kuria is at loggerheads with Senators after he accused some of them of allegedly being used to impeach Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza.
His stand on Mwangaza matter now raising concerns among senators both from Azimio and Kenya Kwanza sides who now want him removed from office.
In an agreement with fellow senators today Wednesday November 8, Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot registered his displeasure with Kuria for his becoming conduct.
“On behalf of the Senate, I want to register my disappointment in the increasingly and becoming conduct of Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria. A man who’s continually embarrassing the appointing authority.
“In fact, it is my submission that the earlier CS Moses Kuria is let off his duty, the better for this administration. Sen Edwin Sifuna: CS Moses Kuria is an incorrigible national shame. One of the things that I ask myself, is just how much embarrassment does the President has the capacity to endure,” he stated today.
Supporting this, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna described Moses Kuria’s action as shameful and unbearable for the country to carry on with him.
“Moses Kuria is an incorrigible national shame. How much embarrassment does the president have to endure? If nothing continues not to be done about this CS, expect a lot more embarrassment in day to come,” Senator Edwin Sifuna said on the floor.
Yesterday Tuesday November 7, CS Kuria took issue with senators who were planning to remove Mwangaza from office.
“I have studied carefully the issues presented against Governor Kawira. The most serious offense is that she looks down on people. That offense can only take you to hell but not to jail. It is, therefore, certainly no ground for her impeachment,” Kuria wrote on X Platform.
Ms Mwangaza motion of removal was tabled in the Senate yesterday Tuesday where senators are expected to decide her fate whether she should remain in office or leave.
She is accused by Members of County Assembly MCAs Meru County of gross misconduct, incompetence and high-handedness.
