Tuesday, March 15, 2022 –Approximately 5,000 delegates have unanimously endorsed Deputy President William Ruto to carry their party’s August 9 flag.
The delegates picked on Dr. Ruto in their closed door session on Tuesday March 15 in a meeting which Ruto came accompanied by his wife, Rachel Ruto.
The delighted couple arrived at the fully-packed indoor arena to a wild reception as he waved back to them for over 3 minutes.
Names present in the event are among others, Governor Anne Waiguru, UDA Secretary-General Veronica Maina, Chairman Johnstone Muthama, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua and Kandara MP Alice Wahome.
Thousands of UDA Party supporters thronged to the venue in their UDA yellow/green branded attires, caps and strips.
Hundreds, hawkers also came over to sell their stuff to the visitors who seemed delighted all through for the big day.
Later on, tycoon Jimi Wanjigi and Mwangi Kiunjuri also came to join the event in support of the DP who is currently leading countrywide in opinion polls.
“Hakuna muungano, ni urafiki tu,” he said.
Ruto will be facing off with Raila Odinga in the August 9 general election.
