Monday, March 18, 2024 –Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen and Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei have taken their fights to upto the courts.
Today, Monday March 18, it was announced that the Transport and Roads CS had sued the vocal senator over their bitter public differences.
This report was first made public by United Democratic Alliance UDA Party elected senator who also shared related court papers from Milimani Commercial Courts.
“We shall defend the great people of Nandi County in the quest for better roads through our blood and sweat,” CS Cherargei remarked after he was served with the lawsuit.
Cherargei, first hinted about being sued last December saying CS Murkomen had taken him to court after he (Cherargei) had claimed that the CS received sh 15 billion bribery from a Chinese construction firm.
The court documents shared by the Senator today Monday, shows that the lawsuit was filed on March 12, 2024.
“You are hereby required within 15 days from the date of service hereof to enter an appearance in the said suit.
“Should you fail to enter appearance within the time mentioned above, the Plaintiff may proceed with the suit and Judgement may be given in your absence,” the court documents read in part.
The two ruling party politicians and who are close to President William Ruto have been fighting each other over their leaderships style.
Cherargei has, not once, pushed for the removal of Murkomen from office citing integrity as well as competency issues.
